The Divine Revelation at Mount Sinai  was the most outstanding event in the history of mankind. Never before, and never again has G-d appeared to an entire nation, numbered at over 3 million people. 
 
On the morning of the day that G-d Himself was going to give his Torah to the Jewish nation, the entire earth shook, the heavens thundered, the waters trembled and fled their banks, the piercing sound of a blowing ram’s horn grew louder and louder, the subterranean waters threatened to overrun the world…and at the moment G-d was about to reveal Himself and give the Torah an eerie silence that fell across the entire world. Not a single bird flew in the sky, not a creature made a sound, it was as if the world had been emptied of all who live there. 
 
This is just a teeny description of the huge miracles which occurred during the giving of the Torah and which the entire world were privy to, too. And this painting is a reflection of that, less with images and more with a feeling. 
 
A feeling of awesomeness, of stillness, majesty and beauty. 
 
Incorporated in this painting are the miracles G-d wrought with all four elements. The element of air produced lightning and thunder, the element of water produced rain, the element of earth produced earthquakes, and the element of fire was present in a miraculous manner as described in the verse ‘Mount Sinai was all in smoke because of That which had descended upon it-G-d in fire’ Exodus 19:18 (Meam Loez)
 
I included the lightning, the colours of water and earth, and the warm colours of fire as well as the patterns of the burning bush (when G-d first revealed Himself to Moshe and told him to redeem the Jewish people from Egypt) as found on the Sinai stones, which occured in exactly the same location. 
 
This piece is not only soulful and inspiring but aesthetic and beautiful too.
