FAQ

What's the difference between professional art prints (as sold on this website) and regular prints?

All prints on this website are giclee art prints. Giclee prints are created using specialised techniques, creating a vivid and very real-looking copy of the original painting. The prints display all the original colours, hues and contrasts, to the extent that you feel you can touch the brushstrokes.

They are created in conjunction with the experts at Jerusalem Fine Art Prints and are printed using the world's highest quality archival pigment ink, and the Epson Ultra Chrome K3.

How are the prints produced?

If you are curious, the process goes something like this: I bring my original painting in to Jerusalem Fine Art Prints to be scanned. After that I  work closely with their graphic designer to make all the necessary adjustments to the hues, contrasts and colours so that the online version matches exactly to the original. When I am finally satisfied that the new image looks the same, if not better, I know we are ready to go! We do a few test runs to double-check, make more adjustments if needed, and the final version is saved.

Does my artwork need to be framed behind glass?

Canvas prints do not need to be framed behind glass. They can be hung as is or framed.

Giglee prints on paper however DO need to be framed behind glass, to protect colour and resolution.

Alternatively with a coat of varnish, you will not need to frame behind glass. If this is something you are interested in adding, please contact us at avigailwieder@gmail.com

How are canvas paintings and prints shipped?

All canvases are shipped rolled up in a tube. You will need to take it to your local framing shop to be stretched on a wooden frame. The price will depend on the size but in Israel could cost between 50-150 shekel.

What is a mixed media?

This is an add-on option that is available for all canvas prints. A mixed media is the same as the canvas print but with the addition of actual brushwork on top of the print . The benefits are threefold; Firstly you have added value to your print-you get a piece of artwork with original artwork by the artist at a great price. Secondly, the additional brushwork adds texture and vibrancy. And thirdly,  your piece is unique - no two mixed media productions will ever be the same.
