Calming and soulful painting of the Mediterranean Sea at sunset from the shores of Israel. I tried something new when I painted this painting! I wanted to capture something more than just a beautiful sea view. I wanted to capture the essence, the magic and the magnificence of the sea at sunset. Instead of basing this painting on reference photos and videos I had taken while at the beach at sunset, I based it on my own memory and inspiration. This way I could really capture the feeling of expansion, of peacefulness and of meditative calm that I experienced when standing on the beach.
And of course I did still refer to my reference videos and photographs so that I could add any delicious details I might have missed!
