Because the destruction of the Beit Hamikdash was not just the beginning of our long and troubled exile, it was a fracturing of our collective soul too. 
 
Which is why at every joyous occasion we remember Jerusalem, out of love and yearning, because we know that until the Beit Hamikdash is rebuilt, our joy is never fully complete. 
 
This wedding was so special I had to paint it. The Chuppah at sunset, the dancing at night, the music, the singing, it's all included at once.
